Gurnee Fire Department Junior Fire Academy
The Gurnee Fire Department Junior Fire Academy is a program designed for high school students interested in pursuing a career as a firefighter. Our academy provides hands-on training, workshops, and educational resources to prepare students for a future in firefighting. We are dedicated to shaping the next generation of firefighters by offering a comprehensive curriculum taught by experienced professionals. Our focus is on instilling leadership, teamwork, and essential firefighting skills. Join us and ignite your passion for serving the community and saving lives.
Academy students will take part in a 7-week, educational academy that will cover a variety of topics involved in the firefighting profession. Each student will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in each topic. Throughout the course of the academy, students will have the opportunity to do a ride-along with the Gurnee Fire Department.
